Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner
Born and raised in Vancouver, Clarissa Low (R. TCMP) is a registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner in the province of BC and a second generation acupuncturist who has repeatedly witnessed the remarkable healing power of acupuncture since childhood. She has always held a fascination with health and medicine, and with the positive influence of her father who is also a registered acupuncturist, she decided to study Acupuncture after earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at UBC.
Clarissa began her studies in Acupuncture at the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Vancouver. She later continued on to study Chinese herbology and completed the Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine program in 2011. Clarissa also did an inter-departmental internship at the Chinese Medical University Hospital in Taichung, Taiwan, where she had the valuable opportunity to observe the application of TCM in a Western hospital setting.
In addition to her TCM training, Clarissa has also worked in the health nutrition industry for several years as well as studied in the Nutritional Symptomatology program through the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. By combining her interest in nutrition and healthy eating with her TCM training and background, Clarissa offers a well-rounded treatment approach that helps empower her patients to take charge of their health and well-being.
Clarissa specializes in the use of microsystem acupuncture, in particular scalp and hand acupuncture. She has found these methods to be highly effective in a wide variety of ailments, including:
• Acute and chronic pain
• Reduced range of motion due to physical trauma or chronic overuse
• Gastrointestinal dysfunction
• Seasonal allergies
• Plantar fasciitis
• Pain from heel spurs
• Sciatic pain
Clarissa works on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. She welcomes returning and new patients.
